Ozekiyama Park

Ozekiyama Park is popular as a famous spot for cherry blossoms in spring and autumn leaves in autumn. From the observation deck at the top of the park, you can get a panoramic view of Miyoshi city, and it is crowded with people on holidays. Within the park, there is a monument to Araragi school poet Nakamura Kenkichi, who wrote, "Towards the cherry blossoms of this mountain, the river is wide and the water is drawn in." As you take in the view from the top of Ozekiyama, you can think back to the poet's heart. Monuments to Kenkichi's poetry have been erected in various places in the city, such as Hogenji Temple, famous for its weeping cherry trees, and Miyoshi High School, to commemorate the achievements of this master poet born in Miyoshi.
