The garden opened in 1976 as a place of social education to promote the dissemination of plant knowledge and the protection of nature. Located on a hill in Kurashige, Saeki Ward, overlooking the Seto Inland Sea, the garden covers an area of 18.3 hectares and includes a large greenhouse where you can enjoy a tropical and subtropical atmosphere all year round, as well as a cactus greenhouse, an exhibition greenhouse, a tropical water lily greenhouse, a begonia greenhouse, a fuchsia greenhouse, a Japanese garden, an exhibition museum, and many other facilities, where approximately 200,000 plants of 10,000 varieties are cultivated. Don't miss the Australian baobab, the largest in Japan, with a trunk diameter of 2m!
