Beautiful Ishigaki terraced rice fields certified as one of Japan's top 100 terraced rice fields
It is said that it was built about 200 years ago by a samurai who came from Tottori Castle for the purpose of smelting iron using tatara ironwork. For a long time, the area was transformed into a place where people could smelt iron in the summer and make rice terraces in the winter, and the beautiful stone-walled rice terraces that we see today were completed.
