The joy of communicating The joy of communicating. That is the traditional craft experience.

Did you know? Hiroshima is also a production area for Buddhist altars. They are also designated as traditional crafts by the Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry. We will use the gold leaf used in Hiroshima Buddhist altars to make shiny golden pencils. The gold leaf is 1/10,000th of a millimeter thick. In other words, 0.1 microns. It is so thin that you can see through to the other side, even though it is metal. It will fly away with even the slightest breeze, and you cannot even touch it with your bare hands. It is amazing to see how the gold leaf sticks so tightly to the pencil. This experience is very popular with elementary school students who have many opportunities to use pencils.
