The water tower withstood the atomic bomb and preserves the memory of the vast factory before the war.The well is still in use today.
Nippon Asabo, founded in 1919 (Taisho 8), had a vast site along the Sanyo Main Line in Koi at the time, where many single-story factories and warehouses stood side by side. Inside the factory was a three-story brick water tower with arches on all four sides, which was a symbol of a modern factory. The site was 2.83 kilometers from the hypocenter when the bomb hit. The wooden building was partially destroyed, but the water tower, chimney, and well fortunately survived. A pump is now installed in the water tower, and it serves as the symbol of Koi Garden Square, a gardening store run by a landscaping company. The chimney has been dismantled and is no longer there, but the well is still in use at Koi Garden Square.
