The blast destroyed the roof and ceiling of the main hall. After the atomic bombing, the Hiroshima Central Broadcasting Station also became a receiving station for relaying national broadcasts.

Sennenji Temple, located in Yamamoto, Asaminami Ward, was built in the early Meiji period. It was hit by the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945 (Showa 20), 4.99 kilometers from the hypocenter. The roof and ceiling of the main hall were destroyed by the blast from the atomic bomb. After the bombing, Hiroshima Central Broadcasting Station placed some of its equipment there and set up a receiving station. National broadcasts from Tokyo were relayed from here.
