Weeping Willow (East side of Children's Culture and Science Museum) (A-bombed tree)

The only surviving weeping willow in the area

The large willow tree with its branches spreading out to the east of the Children's Culture and Science Museum is a weeping willow that was exposed to the atomic bomb 450m from the hypocenter. Before the war, the West Parade Ground was located around here, and many weeping willows were planted there, but this is the only one that survived. It is 8.0m tall and has a trunk circumference of 2.00m.
