It was bombed and burned down, leaving only the roots. Kuroganemochi sprouting from the stock
The Japanese laurel tree at the Rai Sanyo Historical Museum, which was rebuilt in 1995, originally stood in the garden of the old memorial hall, which was built in 1935. It was 410 meters from the hypocenter when the atomic bomb hit and it was burned, leaving only the stump, but five years later, in 1950, a sprout sprouted from the stump. It has now grown to a height of over 5 meters.
