Weeping willow (along the main river on the west side of the Youth Center) (A-bombed tree)

Only 370m from the hypocenter, most of the trunk was destroyed by fire, but the tree has now grown to a height of 5.5m

On the west side of the Youth Center along the Honkawa River, there is a weeping willow tree that has grown to a height of 5.5m and a trunk circumference of 2.50m. The tree was exposed to the atomic bomb at 370m from the hypocenter, the closest point, and most of the trunk was burned. A small fly sprouted from the remaining base of the tree, and it has now grown to this size.
