Camphor tree (northwest side of RCC China Broadcasting) (A-bombed tree)

A camphor tree still bears the scars of a fire at the time of the atomic bombing.

On the north side of the moat surrounding Hiroshima Castle, on the northwest side of RCC Chugoku Broadcasting, there is a camphor tree that was exposed to the atomic bomb at 1,120 meters from the hypocenter. At the time, the fire in the building of the Hiroshima Army Cadet School, which was located nearby, spread to the tree, leaving scars on the opposite side of the hypocenter.
