Weeping Willow (Kamiyanagibashi Nishizume river bank) (A-bombed tree)

A weeping willow tree that grows diagonally and continues to survive the atomic bombing.

A little south of the Chinese hackberry trees on the riverbank west of Kaminayagibashi Bridge is a weeping willow tree that was exposed to the atomic bomb. It was exposed to the bomb 1,400 meters from the hypocenter. It is 6.0 meters tall, has a trunk circumference of 1.95 meters, and grows at an angle. By comparing it with aerial photographs from that time, it was proven that it was exposed to the bomb at this location and is still alive today.
