A clock decorated with seasonal flowers as a wish for peace

On June 1, 1973, the Flower Clock was installed in the green area to the south of the former Hiroshima City Public Hall with a wish for peace. The clock mechanism was donated by Citizen Watch Co., Ltd., and the exterior design was created by Hiroshima City. The clock face is 6 meters in diameter, with the hour hand measuring 2 meters, the minute hand 2.8 meters, and the second hand 2.9 meters long, and is decorated with seasonal flowers. The Flower Clock was temporarily removed due to the construction of the Hiroshima International Conference Center, but was installed in its current location in May 1992.
