Democratic People's Republic of Korea Commemorative Clock

A clock built to commemorate the return of Korean residents to their home country

Based on the repatriation agreement concluded on August 13, 1959 between the Red Cross Society of Japan and the Red Cross Society of North Korea (Democratic People's Republic of Korea), residents of Japan Koreans returned home. The clock was built in commemoration of that event, and was originally located in the green area south of the City Hall (currently the International Conference Center), but was apparently moved to its current location in conjunction with the construction of Peace Memorial Park.
