A monument carved during the occupation that points out the criminality of the atomic bombing and calls for continued action for peace.

Date of construction: August 6, 1965 At the time of the atomic bombing, there were 200 employees working for 14 insurance companies in the city, and 89 of them were victims of the atomic bomb. The Hiroshima General Insurance Labor Union appealed to its members across the country to donate to this monument, and at that time, they also asked for the inscription and shape of the monument. While many monuments from the immediate post-war period were affected by occupation policies, the inscription, ``Why did that day happen? It calls for the next generation to pass on the actions to build a peaceful world, and in that sense it has great significance.
