Hiroshima Prefectural Agricultural Association Atomic Bomb Victims Cenotaph

A memorial monument inscribed with the names of the 83 people who died, built on the site of the former Hiroshima branch of the Agricultural Association.

Date erected: August 6, 1971 At the time of the bombing, the site where this monument stands was the Hiroshima branch office of the Agricultural Association. All 40 or so employees of the branch died in the atomic bombing. Fourteen people also died at the main office in Kokutaiji-cho, and many more casualties followed. The names of the 83 victims are inscribed on this memorial monument.
