In front of the museum, you can see the scenic Setouchi scenery, including the World Heritage island of Miyajima. The approach to the museum, the "Forest Promenade," was established with the theme of harmony between nature, people, and culture, and is home to sculptures, 300 types of trees including cherry blossoms, and wild birds, allowing you to enjoy the beautiful nature of the four seasons. The collection is diverse, including Takeuchi Seiho's masterpiece "Romanozu," modern Japanese paintings, picture scrolls such as the Muramatsu Monogatari Emaki, calligraphy by the emperor himself, ukiyo-e, Chinese prints, perfume bottles, and inro, and is exhibited in sequence according to the season and theme. From the terrace on the second floor of the museum, you can see Miyajima right in front of you.
