Hiroshima Station

In 2025, with the opening of the new Hiroshima Station building, "minamoa," the station evolved into a large-scale transportation hub combining convenience and comfort. The most notable feature is the opening of a new route for the Hiroshima Electric Railway (streetcar) that directly enters the second floor of the station building. The direct connection between the JR ticket gate floor and the streetcar platform on the same level allows for smooth transfers regardless of steps or weather conditions. The sight of the streetcars moving through the all-glass space has become a new symbol of the city.


The pedestrian deck on the second floor connects surrounding accommodations and major attractions. The spacious pedestrian-only walkway is designed with travelers with large luggage in mind, allowing for safe movement without having to descend to ground level. Furthermore, "ekie," directly connected to the station, offers everything from authentic local cuisine such as okonomiyaki to the latest sweets, making it extremely useful for meals upon arrival or souvenir shopping before departure.


Located on the 9th floor of the new Hiroshima Station building, the rooftop plaza "Soramoa" is a lush, open space. From the observation deck, you can enjoy panoramic views of the railway and city below, providing a peaceful respite from your travels. In addition to improved transportation convenience, the station has been reborn with dining and relaxation facilities, making it a multi-functional spot that can be used in various aspects of your travels as a base for sightseeing.
