The pioneer of Hiroshima's shopping district, which began with the enshrinement of Goshi Shrine.

Ebisu-dori Shopping Street has a history of over 410 years.
Its origins date back to 1603, when a market was opened to mark the enshrinement of Ebisu Shrine, known as the god of merchants. Considered the pioneer of Hiroshima's shopping streets, this market has continued to develop over the years, becoming the Ebisu-dori Shopping Street we know today. Even today, all members of the shopping street are parishioners of Ebisu Shrine, and the area continues to thrive with the shrine at its core.
This shopping street, in particular, is unique in Japan in that it is centered around the Fukuya and Mitsukoshi department stores. As a neighborhood that combines old and new, it preserves its fine traditions while actively embarking on new ventures.
