A merchant house built in the early Meiji era, entering a new era as a villain
The area of Jogemachi, which was a tenryo (Japanese feudal domain), once flourished as a political and economic center under the direct control of the shogunate. In the center of the streets that recall those times lies the Machiya Tenryo Joge, where you can stay. This building, which has entered a new era as a lodging facility, is a merchant's house built in the early Meiji period. Once you step inside, you will find a long building that stretches deeper and deeper, a miniature garden surrounded by walls on all sides, the warmth of the wood, the sounds of people coming and going, and everything you can see, hear, and touch - a place filled with delightful discoveries and encounters that are the result of learning from the past and creating something new.
