Travel back in time to the old days with a townscape that retains the image of a post town
Jogemachi was a Tenryo area where the Shogunate's magistrate's office was located during the Edo Period. It continued to thrive as a post town on the Sekishu Kaido Road, and even today the townscape still retains strong traces of its former glory. The back alleys off the main street are also popular spots with foreign tourists, as you can get a feel for the lives of the people who live in Joge and Joge. Take a leisurely bike ride as if you're taking a stroll and you'll enjoy new discoveries and a comfortable trip.
