Flowing lanterns with messages of peace written on them to send wishes for lasting world peace to the world

It is said that Hiroshima began this tradition shortly after the Second World War when bereaved families and friends who lost relatives and acquaintances in the atomic bomb floated handmade lanterns down the river in hopes of "memorial service" and "reconstruction," and the lanterns have been floated down the river every year on August 6th. In this lantern floating experience, participants float lanterns with their own messages of peace written on them, sending out their wishes for lasting world peace to the world.
