Many of the wooden buildings were completed between the end of the Edo period and the beginning of the Meiji period, and the Soshin Kannon Hall, bell tower, Inari shrine, Miki Gongen hall, and Chinjudo hall are dotted in the valley. The temple was hit by the atomic bomb on August 6, 1945, 3.18 (Inari shrine) to 3.30 (Chinjudo) kilometers from the hypocenter. The powerful blast from the atomic bomb ran up the slope, causing great damage to the buildings within the temple grounds. The roof and fittings of the main hall were damaged and emergency repairs were made, but it was rebuilt in 1968 (Showa 43).
