The legend of the light stone remains: the maple tree of Hikari Inari and the large ginkgo tree of Hachiman Shrine

This place is called "The Village of Light" because of the legend of the Light Stone, where a rock glowed and continued to illuminate the village. The large ginkgo tree at Sakatani (Hikari) Hachiman Shrine is estimated to be about 400 years old, about 30m tall, and about 5.1m around chest height, and looking up at it from below, you will be overwhelmed by its height. Hikari Inari is a small shrine that was built around the year 1811 and has been in existence for over 200 years. Maple trees are planted around it, and they delight the eyes of people during the autumn foliage season. When the autumn leaves are at their best, the area is lit up, and the rice fields in front of the large ginkgo tree and the maple trees are filled with water, allowing you to see the upside-down maple leaves and upside-down ginkgo trees, which are very beautiful and divine, and extremely worth seeing.
