The Horse Quarantine Station incinerator where the bodies of A-bomb victims transported to Ninoshima were incinerated
An estimated 1,000 bodies were cremated at the horse incinerator (now the Hiroshima Ninoshima Housing Complex) on the site of the former Army Horse Quarantine Station. An excavation survey was carried out in September 1990, and bone fragments of victims of the atomic bomb were collected. In 1991, at the request of citizens, part of the horse incinerator was moved to its current location for preservation.
