Next to the monument are the remains of the Chugoku Military District Headquarters Air Defense Operations Room, where a student from the same school sent out the first report of the destruction of Hiroshima. In addition, there is a monument to the victims of the military personnel of the headquarters, the "Monument to the Deaths in the Line of Duty of the Chugoku Military District Headquarters" (Minami Ward).
