In order to mourn the souls of those who died, a monument was erected on the grounds of the joint government building on August 6, 1965, 20 years after the bombing, at the request of national tax officials, the surviving families of those who died, and their seniors. *Parking is not available at the Hiroshima Joint Government Building if you are visiting.
