It was built to commemorate the war dead from the Sino-Japanese War to the Pacific War and the victims of the atomic bomb in the Eba area.

[Date of erection] May 1983 [Erected by] Eba Bereaved Families Association [History] This monument was erected to commemorate the war dead from the Second Sino-Japanese War to the Pacific War and the victims of the atomic bomb in the Eba area (319 people. Of these, 190 were victims of the atomic bomb: 101 mobilized students, 41 soldiers, 38 members of the Volunteer Corps, 6 civilian military personnel, and 4 members of the Volunteer Corps). The names of the victims are inscribed on the back. Every year, a memorial service is held in front of the monument on August 6th, and a memorial service by the Bereaved Families Association is held on August 12th.
