The victims were 12 representative caretakers and one priest from Kyosenji Temple who had gone to Kyonenji Temple in Tenjin-machi. The names of the 13 victims are inscribed on the back of the monument.
[Date of Construction] November 23, 1963 [Constructor] Kyosenji Temple [History] Tenjincho (now Nakajimacho) was located close to the hypocenter, so it was hit directly by the atomic bomb and was completely destroyed and burned down. Twelve representative caretakers of Kyosenji Temple and one priest who were visiting Kyonenji Temple in Tenjincho were killed. The names of the 13 victims are inscribed on the back of the monument.
