[Date of erection] August 6, 1966 (Showa 41) [Erected by] Bank of Japan Memorial Monument Construction Committee [History] At the time, the Bank of Japan Hiroshima branch was located in Fukuromachi (380 meters from the hypocenter), and 42 people were killed, including bank employees on their way to work. The names of the victims are inscribed on the monument.
