Hiroshima Bank Memorial Monument for the Deceased Employees

A memorial was erected to mark the 90th anniversary of the company's founding.

[Date of construction] November 1968 (Showa 43) [Builder] Hiroshima Bank [History] The head office of Geibi Bank (now Hiroshima Bank) was located 260 meters from the hypocenter. 144 bank employees were killed in the atomic bombing, including 17 who were exposed to radiation inside the head office building. The head office building, whose interior was completely burned down leaving only its exterior, was renovated and used after the bombing, but was rebuilt in 1965 (Showa 40).
