[Date of erection] January 30, 1950 (Showa 25) [Erected by] Volunteers from surviving employees and bereaved families [History] At the time, the Hiroshima Transport and Telecommunications Engineering Bureau was located south of City Hall (currently Kokutaijicho 1-chome, 1 km from the hypocenter), and 52 people were killed. When the monument was erected, it was made into a haiku monument due to the wishes of upper management that it was not advisable to erect a memorial within the city hall. With the rebuilding of the building, it was moved to its current location in 1987 (Showa 62). *Please contact us in advance if you wish to visit (please call 082-563-5060 with the desired date and time of visit, the name of the representative, the number of visitors, and contact details).
