[Date of construction] December 1, 1981 (Showa 56) [Established by] Minami Elementary School Alumni Association [History] Minami National School (now Minami Elementary School. 2.2 km from the hypocenter) was the site of the atomic bomb, and over a dozen people, including teachers and students, who were at the school at the time, were killed.
