Since 1952, a memorial service has been held by local volunteers every year in the early morning of August 6th.

[Date of erection] 1952 (Showa 27) [Erected by] Hiuna Neighborhood Association [History] The Hiuna and Kusuna areas sustained relatively little damage, but there were residents who were in the city center at the time and became victims. To commemorate these victims, a wooden monument was erected in 1952 (Showa 27), and a stone monument was erected in August 1981 (Showa 56). Since 1952 (Showa 27), a memorial service has been held by local volunteers every year in the early morning of August 6th.
