[Date of Construction] August 15, 1947 [Builder] Jokokuji Temple [History] At the time, Nishichimachi (700 meters from the hypocenter) and Nishishinmachi (800 meters from the hypocenter) were located in the area of present-day Dobashi-cho. The mother of the head priest of Jokokuji Temple at the time erected a wooden monument to commemorate the residents of the area and those who fell victim to the atomic bomb in this region. Currently, the wooden monument has decayed and an uninscribed stone has been placed in its place. Next to it stands a pagoda, the top of which was damaged by the atomic bomb.
