It was built to commemorate the war dead from the Satsuma Rebellion to the Pacific War and the victims of the atomic bomb in the Higashino district.
[Date of erection] October 2, 1960 [Erected by] Higashino District War Dead Memorial Construction Committee [History] This monument was erected to commemorate the war dead and atomic bomb victims from the Seinan War to the Pacific War in Higashino District (77 people. Of these, 41 were atomic bomb victims, including 24 ordinary people who died in the atomic bombing, 9 mobilized students, 7 mobilized students and women's volunteer corps members, and 1 soldier). The names of the victims are inscribed on the front of the pedestal.
