Next to the monument is a memorial stone inscribed with the names of the 83 students and one teacher who were killed.
[Date of construction] September 22, 1954 (Showa 29) [Constructor] Oshita Gakuen Gion High School [History] Students from Gion Girls' High School, the predecessor to AICJ Junior and Senior High School, were killed in the bombing while working at the Hiroshima Post Office in Saikumachi (now Otemachi 1-chome, 50 meters from the hypocenter). Next to the monument is a memorial stone inscribed with the names of the 83 students and one teacher who perished. *Opening hours are from 8:30am to 5pm. Enter the main gate and contact the office on the right to let them know you would like to visit.
