Memorial monument for staff and students of Koryo Junior High School

[Date of construction] August 1965 (Showa 40) [Established by] Koryo Gakuen and its PTA [History] At the time, Koryo Junior High School was located in Ujina-cho (3 km from the hypocenter). First and second year students were deployed from Zakoba-cho (now Kokutaiji-cho 1-chome, 1.2 km from the hypocenter) to the area around Tsurumibashi (1.6 km from the hypocenter) to help with building evacuation, and 22 students and 2 staff members were killed.
