Memorial monument (inside Kyorenji Yaguchigaoka Cemetery)

After the war, the memorial monument that was at the Yaguchi crematorium was moved to its current location and rebuilt as a memorial to the atomic bombing.

After the bombing, many victims fled from the city center, and about 380 people were accommodated at Kuchida National School (now Kuchida Elementary School) and the Kuchida Village Agricultural Association (now JA Hiroshima). Of these, about 70 people were killed and were cremated on the riverbank or buried in the forest. After the war, the memorial monument that had been at the Yaguchi crematorium was moved to its current location and rebuilt as the A-bomb Memorial.
