[Date of Construction] August 1970 [Constructors] Suzuhari District Residents, Chokakuji Temple [History] From the day of the bombing, injured victims also took refuge in Suzuhari Village. From the following day, the 7th, more than 150 injured people were transported by truck to Chokakuji Temple, and by October, more than 100 people had died. The remains of more than 80 of these were collected by their families or close relatives, but the remains of about 10 were left unclaimed and buried in the communal cemetery as abandoned Buddhas. In 1970, the communal cemetery was relocated, and the remains were moved back to Chokakuji Temple. The local people of the Suzuhari district mourned the deaths of these victims and erected a monument to house the remains. *If you would like to talk to us, please contact us in advance (please tell us the desired date and time of the tour, the representative's name, the number of visitors, and contact information by phone (Hoshu 080-6307-5750, Chokakuji 082-835-1028, 082-835-1929)).
