It was built to commemorate the war dead from the Sino-Japanese War to the Pacific War and the victims of the atomic bomb in the former village of Minauchi.
[Date of erection] November 1960 [Erected by] Former Minouchi Village [History] This monument was erected to commemorate the merger of the former Minouchi Village and two other villages into Yure Town, and to commemorate the war dead from the Sino-Japanese War to the Pacific War and the victims of the atomic bomb (293 people. Of these, 42 soldiers and military personnel, 13 mobilized students, 7 members of the Labor Service Corps, 3 volunteer corps, and 3 conscripted workers were 68 victims of the atomic bomb). The names of the victims are inscribed on the back of the monument. Every autumn, a memorial event is held by the Minouchi District Bereaved Families Association and others.
