Every autumn, a memorial service is held by the Sunatani District War Dead Memorial Service Executive Committee and others.

[Date of erection] September 30, 1956 (Showa 31) [Erected by] Former Sunaya Village [History] This monument was erected to commemorate the merger of Sunaya Village and three other villages into Yuki Town, and to commemorate the war dead and atomic bomb victims of the former Sunaya Village from the Seinan War to the Pacific War (286 people. Of these, 56 were atomic bomb victims, including 33 soldiers and military personnel, 8 mobilized students, 8 volunteer corps members, and 7 conscripted workers). The names of the victims are inscribed on the front of the base of the monument.
