Only seen at this time of year! The westernmost frozen waterfalls of the Chugoku region! Komagataki and Kurotaki Falls are a winter scenic spot on the slopes of Mount Ryuzu, a 928m mountain that is ranked among the top 100 mountains in Hiroshima Prefecture.

Enjoy a limited-time tour with spectacular views. Experience the magnificent natural beauty created by the harsh winter cold of Mount Ryuzu. Admire the frozen waterfalls of Komagataki and Kurotaki, nestled halfway up Mount Ryuzu. Kurotaki, in particular, is a spectacular frozen waterfall that only appears (and cannot be seen) during the winter.

10:00: Meet at Ryuzu Forest, itinerary briefing. Trek to the falls (approx. 40 minutes one way).
(Prepare snowshoes if there is snow.)
12:30: Lunch at Ryuzu Forest Management Building
*Lunch will be keema curry made with wild game caught in Kitahiroshima Town.
Seasonal salads featuring Kitahiroshima vegetables will also be served.
