Experience the tea ceremony at a cafe near the Atomic Bomb Dome

This tea ceremony experience tour will take place at URBAN-PEACE CAFÉ, located near Kamiyacho Shareo Central Square, about a 5-minute walk from the Atomic Bomb Dome.
The first half of the tour will feature a guided talk by a Hiroshima Prefecture regional licensed guide-interpreter, accompanied by coffee and traditional Japanese sweets called taiyaki. The taiyaki are a popular item at the cafe, from Yoshio, a taiyaki shop in Akiota Town, Hiroshima Prefecture, where customers often line up to buy them. Kamiyacho is a bustling shopping district lined with shops both before and after the war. We'll explain the area's history, the situation at the time of the bombing, and its subsequent recovery. We'll also introduce Hiroshima's many other attractions and local cuisine beyond Miyajima and the Atomic Bomb Dome.
The second half of the tour will be a casual tea ceremony experience. An experienced tea ceremony guide will demonstrate how to prepare delicious matcha, and you'll have the opportunity to try making some yourself. The world of tea ceremony is based on the spirit of "ichigo ichie" (a once-in-a-lifetime encounter). Join guests from around the world as they enjoy tea ceremony in Hiroshima, the city of peace. The shop also displays paintings of the Atomic Bomb Dome and Miyajima, and the postcards and coffee cups make perfect souvenirs from Hiroshima. Enjoy shopping and dining before or after the tour.
