The main hall where Ito Hirobumi, a great Meiji era figure, had deep faith
Founded by Kobo Daishi Kukai in 806. The principal image is Kokuzo Bosatsu, flanked by Acala and Bishamonten. The temple is a place of deep faith for Taira no Kiyomori, Ashikaga Yoshihisa, Ouchi Yoshitaka, Fukushima Masanori, and Ito Hirobumi. The inscription was handwritten by Ito Hirobumi himself.
