Private Calligraphy Experience | Take home a one-of-a-kind Kanji art piece as a souvenir

【Highlights】
Experience the art of Japanese calligraphy and take home an original calligraphy piece that you can only create here. By writing with a sense of focus and concentration, you can experience the beauty of traditional Japanese culture. You can also take home a sticker of your practiced name written in kanji.


【Itinerary】 ① Introduction to the History of Calligraphy (15 minutes)
- Serving tea, greetings, and self-introductions
- Introducing the history of calligraphy and the relationship between Hiroshima and calligraphy using a picture story show
- Explanation of Kumano brushes, a production area for calligraphy brushes

② Calligraphy Practice (30 minutes)
STEP 1: Practice basic techniques (stops, flicks, sweeps) using the character "永" (ei)
STEP 2: The instructor will translate your name or favorite word into kanji (using GPTs' name kanji conversion) and you will write it on a sheet of paper.
STEP 3: Practice writing on the paper several times.

③ Creating Artwork (30 minutes)
STEP 4: Choose your favorite item (colored paper, plain T-shirt, wall clock, fan, etc.) and create a calligraphy artwork.
STEP 5: Photo shoot. The written characters (kanji) will be made into stickers and given as a gift.

【Details】
The characters to be written in STEP 2 will be chosen by the instructor through conversation, such as your name (kanji) or your favorite word.

Your artwork will be dried with a hairdryer on the same day, and you can take it home immediately.
