Onomichi City has flourished as a port town since ancient times and is known for its charming steep slopes. It is an attractive tourist destination where the beautiful nature of the Seto Inland Sea and rich history and culture are harmoniously blended. From Senkoji Temple, a historic Shingon Buddhist temple designated as a Japan Heritage site, you can enjoy a magnificent panoramic view of the Onomichi Channel. Known as one of the world's leading cycling routes, the Shimanami Kaido is a 60km-long path connecting six islands in the Seto Inland Sea with multiple bridges. This tour crosses three of these bridges and includes a stop on Ikuchijima Island for a stroll. On Ikuchijima, you will visit the "Hill of Future Hearts" located within the Kosanji Museum. This is a popular spot for Japanese tourists as well, a magnificent and fantastical modern art garden with vast expanse of pure white marble sculptures. This tour allows you to enjoy the breathtaking nature and scenery of the Seto Inland Sea while experiencing the rich history and culture of Onomichi and Shimanami.
