【Details】
Iaido is a profoundly deep world where the techniques for defeating an opponent are elevated as a process of character development. Have you ever heard the word "iaigiri" somewhere?

Iaido, as its name suggests, is a martial art derived from swordsmanship.

It is a martial art characterized by the tension of using a real sword and extremely sharp movements. Originally, it was swordsmanship using real swords that was established as a martial art.

Its origins are ancient, with the oldest theory suggesting it dates back to the Muromachi period, over 500 years ago. Many people would immediately think of Kendo when considering martial arts that also use swords.

A major difference from Kendo is that Iaido always begins with "drawing the sword from its sheath." Another significant difference is that there are no sparring matches.

You can learn how to use, draw, and swing the sword, and finally, you can experience the techniques of Iaido firsthand.

You can also enjoy a "demonstration" using a real Japanese sword by a high-ranking practitioner of the Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu school.

The experience involves wearing a simplified Iaido belt over everyday clothes. (Please wear comfortable clothing.) A black belt in the Muso Jikiden Eishin-ryu style will provide safe and thorough instruction, so please feel free to participate in the experience.

You are welcome to take photos with your own equipment of the unique drawing and sheathing of the sword, the kata demonstrations, and more. Please capture this valuable experience in a tangible form.

Schedule for the day: Approximately 120 minutes

Enjoy a safe experience with instruction from a black belt!

Instruction from a black belt ensures your safety. Safety is our top priority, so please follow the instructor's instructions carefully.

We will also teach you how to handle a Japanese sword. Enjoy Japanese culture to the fullest!

Because you will be practicing with an imaginary enemy, there is no sparring like in Kendo, and it does not involve strenuous exercise. Therefore, you can practice at your own pace and according to your physical strength, making Iaido a martial art enjoyed by people of all ages.

No physical strength is required.

All you need is the strength to swing a Japanese sword.
