A mountain castle at the tip of a hill at the southwestern tip of the Kodate Basin, where large-scale remains remain on a long, steep ridge.

A mountain castle at the southwestern edge of the Kotatsu Basin, Shishido Tomoie was appointed Aki no Kami in 1334 and moved to Kotatsu, where he initially built Yanagi Castle at the foot of Mount Kikuyama. Later, he moved the castle to Mount Motokiyama on the opposite bank, but due to a water shortage, he invited the Goryu King to pray and a well began to flow, so the mountain was renamed Goryu Castle.
