Glass Vase and Still Life Yoko Yamano Anderson and 18 Painters [Hiroshima City Museum of Contemporary Art]
Exhibition Overview
“How about turning Yamano's glass works into a book?” This one word led to the beginning of a project called “Glass Tableware in Still Life (Glass Tableware in Still Life Paintings).”
The painter tells glass artist Yamano Anderson Yoko in words about the glass tableware she would like to draw herself. Yamano blows glass in response to those words, and the painter draws a picture while looking at the finished glass tableware. Afterwards, photographer Masahiro Mibe visits the painters' ateliers to take pictures, and designer Suyama Yuri designs the book. This project, which was set in Sweden, Germany, and Japan, eventually led to this exhibition, hoping that many people could see the glass tableware, paintings, and photographs created in this way.
Clear glass tableware with beautiful slight distortions unique to aerial blowing, intimate paintings by painters, and monochrome photographs praising the floating feeling. Please listen to the voices these things begin to tell and try to write down each story.
