Daimonji Festival

This is the traditional event “Daimonji Festival” handed down in the region.

Every year on the last Saturday and Sunday of May, a “large” shape (45 m wide, 55 m long) lights up on Mt. Takamatsu.

The "Daimonji Festival" at Mt. Takamatsu, which has been a traditional event for about 300 years, involves dedicating large bonfires in the shape of the character "大" (meaning "big" or "large") on the mountain to pray for fire safety.

It is loved by local people as a tradition that heralds early summer.
